My story:

Hello!

My name is Ekaterina Sotina.  I was born in St. Petersburg where I graduated from art school in 2009.

In 2012 I started studying in St. Petersburg State University at the Faculty of Arts. There I gained tremendous knowledge in various fields of art and colossal experience in painting, drawing, composition, sculpture and animation. Then I was working as a graphic designer for 5 years.

In 2019 I moved to Switzerland and my life changed completely. I was changed, I began to feel everything

deeper and I wanted to come back into painting.

Since then I have never parted with canvas and paints, constantly developing and perfecting my techniques. Drawing is my passion. This is the best rest and a source of energy, strength and inspiration for me. It is free creativity that gives a flight of imagination and erases all boundaries of thinking.

I always use expressive strokes and voluminous pieces of paint that convey more emotions and feelings.

I am inspired by the theme of human passion and love. Sometimes in real life this is something that is lacking

and you want to express emotions on the canvas and live them. I draw what I feel and turn off my head

to convey what is  inside me at the moment.

About my creation:

I am fond of psychology, the theme of personal growth and the theme of the relationship between a man

and a woman. In my works, I build a dialogue with the viewer by transferring visual meanings, associations

and energy. Most often I talk about psychological states, relationships, human behaviour, about our consciousness, subconsciousness and about love. Sometimes I really want to share my state, insight,

discovery within myself … and at this moment I immediately run to the canvas and talk about it.
