DNA-2

On the 14th of October Ukraine celebrates the Day of Defender. We are still at war with russia and all patriotic dates are very important for us. It is one more note that we are alive as a country and nation.

I made 2 ink drawings due to this date: DNA-2 and DNA-1. You can find “DNA-2” in the picture. I choose red and black colors because we have two flags. These are the national one 🇺🇦 and the warrior’s with red and black lines. Red is a symbol of blood, black is ground. So our second flag is a symbol of blood that we pay for being an independent country.

The red-black flag was created in XX century by Ukrainian rebels, while Ukraine was occupied by communism/russians. In 100 years we have the same problems and the flag is still a symbol of fighting, independence, and defense.

I choose simple lines to show that this mighty power flows in Ukrainian gens
